Summer Air, 2014 – Michaela Harlow – Pastel on Paper, 24″ x 18″

You know that summer has truly arrived in New England when the air is thick, heavy and milky as an old glass bottle. Humidity: it makes my hair curl and my mood languid. It’s good to be in the studio this afternoon, painting beneath the swirling hum of a giant overhead fan.
