September Waters

The calendar says that it’s still summer, but a stroll through the forest reveals that change is in the air. Rust. Aquamarine. Vermillion. Amber. Tints of early fall color can already be found in the lowlands, forest brooks, marshes, swamps and rocky riverbeds. Autumn. There’s nothing quite like it, and this year it belongs to my pastel stumps and paint brushes. Bring it on, Mother Nature. I’m greedy for September’s fiery hues and long, twisted shadows.

The clear, forest brooks below my ledgy studio are the inspiration for this series. This woodland, I love.

September Waters.
