It’s a cold, cold January day. Return of the Polar Vortex. Shop windows in town are covered with frost. A door swings open and shut on the busy street and a steamy blast of warm, moist air carries the scent of springtime. I turn around and stop dead in my tracks; mesmerized by the blurry, misty world behind crystalline condensation. There, just beyond the glass …Tulips the color of ripe, August peaches and honey. My fingers fumble for the iPhone and it’s nowhere to be found. But that’s OK. How can I forget this?

Florist’s Window.
