Graphite Botanical Drawings

Thinking about Jim Dine’s botanical drawings, Cy Twombly’s peonies, Gandy Brodie’s sketchbooks and my own ‘Broken Flowers’ series from a number of years ago as I pulled out graphite pencil and kneaded eraser today. The garden is an irresistible muse this summer and suddenly I have studio time again to practice drawing. Working my way back to a bit of line, shape and form to experiment with in my next series of paintings.
