Two for Tuesday: Lace Botanicals . . .

After the recent ice storm, I discovered more botanical remnants trapped in icy pools, along the garden walkway. Bits of Queen Anne’s Lace and Rodgersia —perhaps caught up and swirled about in winter wind— remind me of fine-woven, tea-stained Venetian lace, stitched to grey-green silk.

 I worked on these multilayered pieces Sunday through today …They took a bit longer than I’d anticipated — hundreds of tiny dots and details— but I’m pleased with the results.
